Power Minister assures full supply of power within two years

New Delhi, 26th December.   Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley laid the foundation stone of 220 kv power sub-station at Preet Vihar in a program organized today. On this occasion the Central Power Minister Shri Piyush Goyal, MP Shri Maheish Girri, outgoing MLA Shri Om Prakash Sharma were also present.

Speaking on this occasion Shri Jaitley said that in place of allocating coal to the private companies, the Government is considering allocation directly to the producing companies and plants on priority basis so that power production may be cheap in the country. Decreasing the power tariff with the help of subsidy is not a practical solution and in order to achieve the target of fair power tariff, power production should be at low rates. Shri Jaitley said that within two years there will be 24x7 power supply in East Delhi.

Power Minister Shri Piyush Goyal said that on the one hand the Government is trying to enhance the power production in Rajghat and Badarpur Stations to make Delhi self reliant in power and on the other hand we are also paying full attention to encourage use of LED lights in Government offices, hospitals, schools, colleges and for street lights.

Expressing his gratitude to the Central Government for two new power sub stations at Rajghat and Preet Vihar, East Delhi MP Maheish Girri said that he will distribute LED lamps to the poor people with the help of his MP fund.

On behalf of the people of Shahdara, Vishwas Nagar, Krishna Nagar and Patparganj AC, outgoing MLA Shri Om Prakash Sharma thanked Shri Jaitely on and Shri Piyush Goyal for taking special interest in establishing substation at Preet Vihar at the cost of Rs. 125 crores. After the completion of this substation, power will be supplied at proper voltage and in full quantity and in all these Assembly Constituencies.
